Beyond Self Care

For parents and professionals at risk of compassion fatigue. Typical self-care advice underestimates the impact of traumatic stress on our body, beliefs and behaviours. In these 1 to 3 day trainings, you will learn practices that act as an antidote to shame and powerlessness, restore strength, hope and dignity and practice new, creative, empowering responses to challenging situations

Out of the shadow of shame

This training is for anyone seeking to understand and heal shame in a family or society context. Shame can be behind our child’s most disruptive, distressing behaviours, but it often acts out in disguise. Where does it come from? What does it look like? How does it show up in our body, beliefs and behaviours? How can you reduce shame triggers, prevent pasisting it to others, and become a shame-resilient family?

Dancing With Fire

.

(or how to safely surf a tsunami to shore)

When our children are struggling through super intense arousal states (including hitting, spitting, throwing and kicking), walking away is not the only option; in fact these moments can provide the greatest opportunities for supporting regulation and healing. But we have to know where to look, and how to change the energy of the dance. Learn principles and practices that help you help your child, when they need it the most, whilst keeping your physical and emotional safety intact.
